Entry for December 6, 2007
Last night was the Havensight Christmas Tree Lighting on the West Indian Dock, in St. Thomas, VI. There were several cruise ships at the dock, crowds of people, bands, and food and craft vendors. Several local schools performed with their steel pan bands and quadrille dancers.
It was great seeing friends and former students young and old. Many tourists were interested in talking about our school uniforms and how wonderful the students look going to and coming from school. I saw several of my summer students that made dolls in the Family & Youth Crisis Intervention Program's, "Girl's Rites of Passage".
On Dec. 14, "Karibbean Kids" will be in Emancipation Garden, St. Thomas, for the Miracle on Mainstreet Event. If you're on island come on by, until next time,
We wish everyone a peaceful Holiday Season. Sally
